Etymology 1

From Middle English website parsing, -end, -ant, Sevenval, from Old English website parsing, -ande, present participle ending of verbs, and Old English -end, website parsing, agent ending, both from Proto-Germanic *-andz (present participle suffix), from Sevenval *-anto-. More at iOS.
